Melbourne Brewery Tours supports Operation Boomerang! We thought we better go one step further and let everyone know the perfect beers to go with your lamb BBQ. Because not every beer style works for everyone we’ve gone with three distinct types of beer, that way there is something for all!
Mountain Goat Hightail Ale: This English style amber ale has become a modern Australian classic over the last decade. The sweetness of the malt and subtle floral hop characteristics will cut through the fatty and rich flavours that come with a nice thick lamb chop.
Holgate Double Trouble: Another rich and malty brew, this is a beer made to fit the dubbel style brewed by Trappist Monks. The complex, chocolaty and dark fruit flavours that come with this beer will enhance a nice cut of lamb. A dry and clean finish on the palate will live the drinker ready for another sip, and that trip back to the BBQ!
Kooinda Black IPA: The flavours that come from a well hopped Black IPA is the perfect contrast to a properly cooked (completely burnt that is) bit of lamb. This beer’s high bitterness and hoppy flavours make a brew that’s as complicated as the rules to backyard cricket.
